In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
SIDLEY, John Joseph - It is with great sadness that the family of John Sidley announces his peaceful passing on Friday, June 29, 2007 at the age of 58 years. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lydia; sons, David (Nicole), Paul (Brigitte), Cameron (Cynthia) and Michael as well as his grandchildren, Cynthia, Christopher and Justin and his brothers Paul, David and Anthony. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a large extended family. Johnny was predeceased by his father Joseph, his mother Rita and his sister, Joanne. Johnny was born November 6, 1948 in Winnipeg and after high school served with the Royal Canadian Navy for seven years before commencing his 30 year career with Centra Gas where he made many lifelong friends. His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren, who he loved dearly. His favorite way to spend a nice sunny summer day was golfing with his brothers and sons. Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Riverview Health Center for the wonderful care they gave Johnny during his final days. At Johnny's request cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers friends may make a donation in Johnny's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society MB Division, 193 Sherbrook St. Wpg. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 4 at 11:00 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in the Field of Honour at the Transcona Cemetery.
