LEVESQUE, Ernest Lawrence - age 96, formerly of Sluice Point, passed away peacefully on, August 5, 2022, at Veteran’s Place in Yarmouth, N.S. Born March 7, 1926, in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, he was a son of the late Peter and Cleo (Caron) Levesque. A veteran of WWII, Ernest served for the Royal Canadian Navy. After two tours, he worked at the LORAN station in Baccaro, and continued there after discharge. He finished his time to retirement at the Yarmouth Airport. Along the way he did some lobster fishing, planted potatoes, grew plums, and raised pigs and roosters. He and Germaine discovered camping, which they enjoyed for years. Once he got his tractor, he enjoyed cutting wood for winter and being the neighborhood plow man for gardens and snow removal. He is survived by his loving daughter Lorna (Ronald) Doucette; daughter-in-law Lois (wife of the late Colin Levesque); grandchildren Julien, Lynette, Alain, Chantal, Jacqueline, Dennis, Rachelle and Ginette, as well as 21 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by brothers Andre and Roland Levesque, grandson-in-law Bill MacPherson and special friend Anita Babin. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Germaine (Babin); son Colin, granddaughter Nadine, brothers Omer, Normand, Collin and sister Lorna. Visitation will be from 1-2 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2 pm on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Amirault Hill.
