FORSYTH, James William - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James William Forsyth, formerly of Bedford on July 20, 2022 at the age of 91. He was a dedicated and loyal spouse, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Jim will be greatly missed by his children Gary (Lany), Lorena (Deryk), and Jody (Wilma), grandchildren Samantha and Ross Forsyth, and Christopher, Amanda, Andrew, Jonathan and Matthew Conrod, great grandchildren William Tyndall, Maia, Joseph, Lauren, Thomas, Christian and Scarlet Conrod, sister Mary Gallant, sister-in-law Helen Baker, and beloved companion Viola Parnell and her children (Julie (Brian), Karen and Peter (Cindy) and their families). He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years Marjorie (Peg), twin brother Thomas and sister Florence. Jim served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1949 to 1984 (including service in the Korean War) and continued in his same role as a computer analyst with the civil service until retiring in 1998. He then enjoyed playing bridge, ballroom dancing, travelling in his motorhome and on cruises and watching his beloved Blue Jays. Jim was a friend to everyone he met and will be remembered for his quiet leadership, kindness, and sense of humour. A celebration of his life will be held at 10am on Wednesday, August 31 at the Bedford United Church in Bedford. Any donations to the Veterans Memorial Fund would be appreciated. Jim’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of 6East at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Halifax for their extraordinary care and support. (The Saltwire Network 12 Aug 2022)
