In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
MITCHELL, Vincent Donald Cecil - age 88 years of Shearwater passed away peacefully on his own terms at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax on Sunday August 14, 2022. Born in Chatham, Ontario he was a son of the late Cecil and Lena (Bonneau) Mitchell. In his younger years joined the Royal Canadian Navy. Later on moving to Dartmouth he meet his wife the former Barbara Carroll, who predeceased him after 56 years of marriage. He was a man of many talents, he loved to do things with his hands, such as draw, paint, carpentry. One of his favorite things was working in the yard planting flowers, shrubs and trees. He also loved decorating for Christmas. He is survived by sons, Danny (Linda Chaisson), Steven, grandchildren Sherry, Bruce and Tom, great grandchildren, Malik, Kathryn, Essence and Charolette as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sisters, Dorothy Derbyshire, Shirley Wilson, brothers, Donald, Kenneth, Stanley and Arthur.
