PEAVEY, David Michael - It is with heavy hearts the family of David Michael Peavey announce his sudden passing on August 5, 2022, at the young age of 54. Dave passed peacefully at home with his constant companion and service dog by his side. Dave will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Heather Peavey and Lesley Hole; niece, Avery; and nephew, Carson, all of Dartmouth. Stepmother, Edna Peavey; as well as numerous members of stepfamily, cousins, aunt, uncle and friends across Canada. Dave was predeceased by his parents, Wayne Peavey and Teresa Peavey. Dave graduated from Highland Secondary in Comox, B.C. in 1986 and following in his fathers’ footsteps enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces shortly after. He spent most of his naval career on the HMCS Preserver serving many tours abroad always returning with colorful stories of his travels. After leaving the military Dave turned his attention to advocating for Veterans and their service dogs. Moving back to his hometown in B.C. after living in Halifax N.S., he spent his days with his constant companion service dog, Norm exploring B.C. and living RV life. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to Wounded Warriors Canada. He will be forever missed and carried in our hearts. Until we meet again….”Don’t be yourself…be nice”. (The Saltwire Network 08 Sep 2022)
