LEEDER, Calvin David Edward - It is with a heavy heart and sadness that we announce that Retired Royal Canadian Navy, Petty Officer 2nd Class, Calvin David Edward Leeder passed away peacefully on January 11th, 2014, at the age of 77 in Arborstone Enhanced Care, Halifax. Born February 24th, 1936 in McMurrich Township, Ont., to the late Arthur "Robert' and Myrtle (Cousins) Leeder. He will be welcomed in the open arms of his wife, Doreen Phyllis (MacDonald) Leeder; his parents, Robert and Myrtle and sisters, Marie and Velva. He will be sorely missed by his sisters, Audrey, Una, Mona, Leona and Sheila of Ontario. He was blessed with seven children whom he carried in his heart, mind and soul, Deborah Fraser, Shelburne; Cora Leeder, Halifax; Brenda (Phillip) Ryan, Halifax; Dale (Mark) Brewer, Middle Musquodoboit; Kimberly (Arthur) Smith, Indian Harbour; David (Joanne) Leeder, Ottawa, Ont.; Jo-Ann Leeder, Halifax; as well as grandchildren, Robert, Bradley, Joshua, Tasha, Philip, Kathryn, Morgan and Courtney and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will take place on January 17th at 11 a.m. in T. K. Barnard Funeral Home, 85 Sackville Cross Rd., Lower Sackville.
