SMITH, Gordon Bryson - Successful self-employed electrical contractor in Annapolis Valley, born in Weymouth, to Major Kenneth Smith Sr. and Viola (Cosman) Smith passed away in Valley Regional Hospital Kentville. He was predeceased by his parents, "baby sister" Elinor; brothers, Maj. Ken Smith Jr. and Maj. Wayne Smith. He studied at Wolfville High School, Acadia Divinity College, apprenticed at Dominion Atlantic Railroad, Kentville, Electrical Branch, Royal Canadian Navy ships HMCS GATINEAU and HMCS SWANSEA. Gordon worked with London Life Insurance Co., Halifax; in the electrical trade in Newton, Mass., as a real estate agent and was a self-taught carpenter, who renovated several houses. Gordon’s greatest achievement in life was his faithful love for God, family and country and the Bible (John: 14: 1-4). He was a devoted member of the New Minas Baptist Church. A private family service was held October 22, 2021, in Serenity Funeral Chapel, Coldbrook, with interment in Willowbank Cemetery (Wolfville). Funeral was under the direction of Anthony Facey, Celebration of Life was officiated by Rev. Daniel Cormier and Pastor Siobhan Parr. We the family, in loving memory of my cherished husband, and soulmate of 63 years, Gloria (Millett) Smith; devoted father to Stephen (Theresa), Susan and Kendra; proud grandfather to Jasmine, Hailey, Mitchell, Nicholas, Caleita, Alexander; great-grandfather to Keaton, Grace, Hudson and latest - Emmitt Gordon, born August 16, 2022.
