SCHILLER, John Vincent, AB, V12434, RCNVR, MPK - 20 Mar 1943, HMCS IROQUOIS - Son of Mrs. Eliza A. Schiller, of Edmonton, Alberta.
Able Seaman J. V. Schiller was washed overboard during a gale while attempting to save another seaman and was the Iroquois' first casualty.
John's brother Lawrence (Larry) Schiller also served in the RCNVR during the Second World War.
