JODOIN, Lawrence James, AB AAIII, V57427, RCNVR, killed - 09 Jul 1944, MTB-461 - Son of Arthur and Mary Jodoin, of Edmonton, Alberta.
Able Seaman L. J. Jodoin was killed instantly serving on MTB-461 which was off the French coast near Cap D'Antifer. Lawrence received a direct hit to the stomach from a 40 mm. German shell. He was buried at sea.
AB Jodoin was born in Edmonton in 1925. He enlisted as soon as he was old enough in March 1943. He died 15 months later during the invasion of Normandy.
Jodoin Creek, named in 1950, was named after Able Seaman Lawrence James Jodoin.
