In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
DAWSON, James (Jim) - It is with Father’s arms wrapped tightly around Jim that he has crossed over to join his brother Walter, Annie and his fur companions Misha, Dixie and Pebbie on Thursday November 3rd, 2022.
Born in Moncton, Jim was the son of the late Harry and Sylvia (Gallant) Dawson.
He is survived by his loving wife Marolyn, his step son Robert (Mel), sisters Mary-Ann Caldwell and Gloria Pearson (Paul) both of British Columbia, his sister-in-law Theresa (late Walter), step grand-children Lilah and Jack as well as nieces and nephews.
Jim was a proud military man, having served on the Bonnie for 20 years. Many hours have been spent during the last few months reminiscing of his military career with his good friend Mike Lesperance who provided enormous support to both Marolyn and Jim during his illness.
Jim continued his career as an air traffic controller with ATC spanning over 25 years where he remained until his retirement. During this time he enjoyed jamming at home with his best friends who were his co-workers.
He was a kind, gentle, quiet man who had a dry sense of humour, a twinkle in his eye and a little smirk that would appear when Marolyn teased him and called him "Papa Dawson". He loved her so.
A special thank you to the 5th floor Surgical Intensive and to the Palliative Care Unit of the Moncton Hospital for everything you have done for Jim, particularly to Michelle McKnight for your guidance and kindness.
Rest In Peace Jim. Until we meet again, Love, Marolyn
Honouring his wishes cremation has taken place at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007). Donations made to the Palliative Care Unit at The Moncton Hospital would be appreciated by his family. (Cobb's Funeral Home and Cremation Centre)
