BATES, Alexander Bambridge (Alex) - Peacefully at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Tuesday November 26, 1996 in his 83rd year. Dear son of the late George and Nancy (nee Dearling) Bates. Beloved husband of Lenore Bates. Loving father of Hugh and his wife Gloria of Brockville, Janice Scott and her husband Robert of Cambridge, Bryon and his wife Judith of Cambridge and Lennard and his wife JoAnne of Cambridge. Cherished grandfather of Leslie Schuurs (John), Lorie Scott-Robertson (Rich Donnelle), David Scott (Linda), Julie Tyrell (Joel), Lisa Holmes (Kevin), Shelley Marriner (Todd), Jennifer Shaw (David), Jillian Bates (Mark Watson), Linnea Bates, Tyler Bates, Amanda Bates, Andrew Bates and 9 great-grandchildren. Alex was born and raised in Galt (Cambridge) and was also a lifetime member of Wesley United Church. A Memorial Service will be held at Wesley United Church on Friday November 29, 1996 at 3:00 pm. The Reverend Phil Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to Wesley United Church would be appreciated by the family.
