TODD, David, ERA 3c, V5970, RCNVR, MPK - 11 Sep 1942, HMCS CHARLOTTETOWN - Son of William James Todd, and of Marguerite Todd, of Southampton. Husband of Mary Todd, of Greenfield Park, Quebec.
He served with the Bedfordshire Regiment during the First World War.
Chief Petty Officer David Todd was a well-known resident of Greenfield Park. David Todd, was one of the casualties in the loss of the Canadian Corvette H.M.C.S. Charlottetown C.P.O. Todd is survived by his wife, who also resides at Greenfield Park. A veteran of the Great War, he joined the R.C.N.V.R. as a petty officer in August, 1940 and was promoted to chief petty officer a year later. Born in Londonderry Ireland, he came to Canada as a young man. He was formerly employed by the British American Oil Company at its Montréal East plant. In the last war he joined the 53rd Bedfodshires with which unit he saw service in France. He had eight sons and two daughters, and has five brothers-in-law in Canada's fighting forces. C.P.O Todd had served with the Canadian Navy since the opening of the war.
