In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
McLean, Alexander - Dad passed away peacefully with his family at his side on October 22, 2022 in his 100th year. Dad will be missed by his children Harley, Ross (Sheri), Brian (Danielle), Heather (Bill). He was predeceased by his wife Lovina. Dad loved being a grandpa to Kristopher (Emma), Nathaniel, Jennifer (Eric), Melissa (Raphael), Jordan (Georgia), Tyson. At the age of 99 Dad became a great-grandfather for the first time when little Mia Lovina was born. Dad was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and as soon as he was able, he joined the RCN. Dad was a veteran of WW2 and spent many years at sea. Retiring from the navy, he went to work for BC Ferries, until he retired to the life of travel. Both mom and dad were founding members of the group 292 recycled teenagers based out of the Legion. They spent years travelling throughout the states and Canada with old and new friends. Known as the puzzle man where he lived, he could be found holding court with his many friends and neighbors. Thank you to everyone at Beckley Manor for all the help, love and concern you showed for our Dad. Thank you to Dr Hsu, for all your help and guidance these past few months. A special thank you to Eiko (our pharmacist) for your compassion, care and the help you gave our family. His life was well lived and he was well loved. Dad will always be our "Hero."
