RUSSETT, Gary - Retired-Boeing Canada - 30 years. With sadness, the family announces that Gary passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Civic Hospital early Wednesday morning, November 30, 2022, at the age of 88. He is survived by his beloved wife Shirley (nee Blimkie) of 61 years and children David Russett (Karen) of Arnprior, Donna Russett (Simon) of B.C., and Sheri Kopetoske (Chris) of Arnprior. Cherished grandfather of Cody and Jade Russett, Mitchell, Marshall, Miller, and Mandi Russett, and Collin and Lauren Kopetoske, and great-grandfather of Cooper and Mallory Russett. Dear brother of Monte Russett (Carol) of B.C. and Lois Timmins (Glen) of Pakenham. Predeceased by sister Mary-Lynn Atkins. Gary will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late Peter and Lila Russett and Thelma Baxter (Russett). Gary was a man of many ventures and talents. As a young man he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy and later went on to work at Boeing Canada for 30 years. He was a dedicated volunteer firefighter with the McNab Fire Department, a 4-H club leader, and a long-time member of the McNab Lions Club and the Arnprior Legion Branch # 174. An avid gardener, he will be remembered for his tasty garlic. He enjoyed hunting and loved his Beagle pups. Visitation will take place at the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior, Monday, December 5, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. A service to celebrate Gary's life will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Boyce Chapel. Interment at Arnprior Malloch Road Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Boyce Reception Centre. In memory of Gary, please consider a donation to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation.
