Robert Lloyd (Bob) Salmond, C.D.

Born: 01 Feb 1933, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

 

Died: 15 Jul 1994, Summerland, British Columbia

 

SALMOND, Robert Lloyd  - In 1951 at the age of 18 he joined the Royal Canadian Navy, and served until 1977. One mission he was on was January 29,1973, he boarded the HMCS TERRA NOVA for destination unknown. He was at sea for 5 months. The deployment was called WESTPLOY73. They were sent to the South China Sea as a secondary method of evacuation for the ICCS out of Vietnam. He later worked in the Pacific Ship Repair Unit
until his retirement in 1988.
