CAMPBELL, George A. - The family of George A. Campbell of Leduc Alberta is saddened to announce his passing on Monday, December 5, 2022, at the age of 96 years. He will be lovingly remembered by Arlene, Glenn (Joanne), Brenda ( Dave), grandchildren Melissa (Dave), Rebecca (Keith), Matthew (Mel), Stratton (Thomasina), April (Sam), Robin, Quinn (Robert) Miika, Jacob, Violet, and numerous relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years Ruth.
He was born in Kelliher, Saskatchewan in 1926, then moved to Brandon, Manitoba at the age of 4. He became a telegraph operator until he joined the navy in WW II. He went back to school and graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1962. He taught high school in Rainy River and Thunder Bay. He wrote several books on the telegraph. He started a choir in Leduc called the Telford Choir.
