LAURIN, Lucien Joseph Albert, OS, V6470, RCNVR, MPK - 26 Mar 1941, HMCS OTTER - Son of Adelard and Flora Laurin, of Hull, Quebec.
Lucien J. Albert Laurin was born December 06, 1920 in Hull, Québec, and was educated at Jean Baptiste, Ottawa, and at Notre Dame, Hull. He joined the Navy from Ottawa on May 15, 1940, and previous to that for four year had been in the Sea Cadets where he had won two Medals for marksmanship. He also had his gunner's stripe. Seaman Laurin's name appeared in the casualty lists in March, 1941. He was a member of the crew of HMCS OTTER, which was burned off Halifax Harbour on March 26, 1941. He was unmarried and is survived by his mother, Mrs. F. Laurin of 21 Boulevard St. Joseph, Hull, Québec. (Transcription from newspaper article)
