FLEMING, Leo Joseph, AB, A1141, RCNR, MPK - 04 Feb 1941, HMCS SKEENA - Son of Richard and Margaret Fleming; husband of Phoebe Fleming, of Ketch Harbor, Nova Scotia.

 

Leo Fleming served in the First World War in the RNCVR. Between the wars he worked as a fisherman. Shortly after the outbreak of the Second World War he enlisted in the RCNR. AB Fleming was lost overboard in heavy weather when HMCS SKEENA was forced onto the rocks off Iceland during a North Atlantic gale. He body was never recovered.
