In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
SCOTT, Charles T. - it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad, Charles Thomas (Tom) Scott. Dad passed away peacefully on December 30th. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Joy. They were married in 1952 and happily together until her passing in 2019. He was also predeceased by his brothers-in-law Eric, Don, Jim and Dennis. He is survived by his sisters Velma, Marjorie, Dorothy, Carolyn. He is also survived by his 5 sons Bud (Patty), Derek (Deb), Larry (Sharon), Rory (Cathy), Terry (Sarah) along with 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Dad moved from Ponoka, Alberta in 1946 with his family to Sidney. He worked in a sawmill, CIL paints on James Island, CPR ferry on the west coast and joined the navy in 1949. After 5 years he was discharged. He also worked at BC plywood, farmed, custom tractor work, Central Saanich municipality and joined the Central Saanich Fire department. He then moved on to build and renovate homes and owned and farmed Oldfield Orchard. Dad was the best husband, father and family provider that we could ever wish for, as well as an amazing role model. He along with Mom will be dearly missed. Special thank-you to Dr. Josiah Ng, Sidney Senior care, Island Health Home Care team and the Palliative Care Team at SPH. There will not be a service at Dad's request. (The Victoria Times Colonist 08 Jan 2023)
