In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
WATT, Jean Marion - With sadness, the family of Jean Watt announces her passing on October 30, 2017. Jean lived a full and rich 99 years, dedicated to her family and her country. She was a member of the WRCNS, the Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service, and served in WWII. Following her time overseas, she eventually returned to Edmonton to attend the University of Alberta and obtained a degree in Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. She worked in the field until her retirement. She was a caring and loving aunt to her eight nephews and nieces and their extended families for her entire life, celebrating and taking great pride in any and all of their accomplishments. Jean was predeceased by her parents, James and Margaret, and three of her four siblings, Gordon, Aleck and Mary. She is survived by her sister, Janet, with whom she had a special and close bond. Jean and Janet travelled together, shared their time in the service in the WRCNS, and when Janet visited Edmonton in recent years, enjoyed a tipple before dinner. She will be missed, and forever loved. The family wishes to thank Jean's care companions Melanie, Hannah, Hayley and Mila. Their caring and kindness added immeasurably to her quality of life. A private family memorial will be held. (The Edmonton Journal 04 Nov 2017)
