WHITE, Alfred E. - 65, Prospect Village, died August 13, 1996. Born in Prospect, he was a son of the late Leaman and Mary (Coolen) White. He was a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces and between 1949 - 1972 he served on 17 separate Royal Canadian Naval ships. He was awarded the United Nations Service Medal, Korean Medal and received the Canadian Forces Decoration. Surviving are brother, Clem of Boston; sister Ellen (Mrs. Charles Ryan) of Prospect; son, Leaman of Halifax; daughters, Deborah White of Halifax; Christina (Mrs. Raymond Bowie) of Hatchett Lake; Pamela (Mrs. Robert Christian) of Prospect; Mary-Lou White of Halifax; a grandson; three granddaughters. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Joan Imelda Duggan; daughter, Joanne Marie; brother, Thomas White. Family will receive visitors 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Snow's Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St., Halifax. Funeral 10 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial in church cemetery.
