DAVIES, Ross - On Sunday, February 12, 2023, our dear father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather Ross Davies, passed away peacefully, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, at the age of 97.

Ross was predeceased by his loving wife Jacqueline of 70 years, two years prior; daughter Darlene (Leggett) and sons-in-law Richard Isfeld and Don Leggett.

Left to mourn his passing and at the same time, celebrate his long and rewarding life are daughter Janet; sons Pat (Mona), Jim (Sue), Ron (Brigitte) and Glen (Jodi). Also remembering their Grandfather are 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Ross and Jacqueline met in 1948 and he charmed her with his many stories. They married in 1950 and enjoyed 70 years together. They loved and cared for each other in their home in the woods of La Broquerie until her passing. After Mom's passing, Dad's heart was broken and his world changed. With the help of family and new family friends, Dad was able to live at home until he was reunited with Mom. We will be forever grateful for the care and kindness provided by our dear family friend Josianne. Dad's "Where's Mom?" will forever be ringing in our ears.

From a young age, Dad had an interest in joining the Armed Forces, as it was a big part of his home life. He began in the Cadets program, then in 1942 he joined the Navy. He spent most of his active service performing escort duty in the North Atlantic on board HMCS Halifax, a naval corvette. In 1952, he enlisted in the Air Force and he retired from the Armed Forces in 1967.

After living the Armed Forces' lifestyle, Mom and Dad relocated to Manitoba. Here, Dad honed his artistic skills and began hand painting commercial signage in Niverville. Ross Sign Company was later renamed Creative Print All. The family business grew considerably and continues to operate in Steinbach where it is celebrating 48 years.

Over the years, the family has admired Dad's many talents. His expertise in photography, curling, golf and painting beautiful masterpieces had children and grandchildren seeking private lessons. Only a few could handle the critiquing and attempt a follow-up lesson.

A Celebration of Life will be held privately for extended family. (The Carillon 16 Feb 2023)
