ATHURS, Thomas Steves - Age 90 passed away January 11, 2023, at home where his heart was the happiest. Born in Saint John, NB, to Gordon and Georgina (Steeves) Arthurs. Predeceased by siblings Murray; Cliff (Lota), Eva (Gus); Mac (Gert); Marjorie (Bill), and Carl (Dottie). He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 70 years, Marian Irene (nee Elliott) formerly of Spa Springs; sons Gary (Ria) Ottawa; Terry, Kamloops; Todd (Marlene) Meadowvale; and daughter Debbie (Dennis Page) Halifax. He was blessed with many grand children - Jennifer; Denise; Melissa; Sean; (predeceased by) Michelle; Michael; Darren; Sheri; Cory; Elliot; Brad; Stephanie; Lydia; Maria and Ethan. Great Grand Children - Brienne; Gavin; Chloe; Linden; Bryant; Heidi; Olivia; Sophia; Victoria; Ellie; Josie; Theo; and twins Ivy and Nova.
Tom joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1951 in Edmonton, Alberta. Basic training in Cornwallis; Stokers Training in Naden; Served oi HMC Ships: Wallaceburg (twice); Whitethroat, Quebec; Huron; Algonquin (twice); Cape Scott; Nipigon - briefly with the 6th Submarine Squadron. Stadacona Fleet School Instructor in Systems; Bear Trap Haul Down System; Mechanical Drawing.
Past Lions Club Member; and Lifelong Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 98 Kingston, NS.
He was passionate about golf — a founding member at Hartland Point Golf Course and longtime member at Paragon Golf and Country Club.
Cremation has taken place, and there will be a visitation on Wednesday, January 18th from l pm - 3pm at the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., Middleton toll free: 1-855-825-3448 Donations in his honour may be made to Ronald McDonald House, any homeless shelter, or charity of your choice.
