KELLY, Ida Mae - 79, passed away December 26, 2001, in Halifax. Born in Bull Cove, Conception Bay, Newfoundland on September 22, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Laura (Sparks) Kelly. A Navy veteran of the Second World War, Ida was a loving wife, caring mother and devoted grandmother. She enjoyed her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by a daughter, Joyce McGrath (Carl), Dartmouth; sons, Alden (Laura), Montreal; Brian (Lynne), Bedford; grandsons, Jamie and Daniel McGrath, Dartmouth; brother, Albert, Newfoundland; step-sister, Freda Bartlett, Newfoundland. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Cecil; infant son, Joseph; brother, James; sister, Ella Fahey; step-brothers, George and Rueben Youden; step-sister, Elsie Barfoot. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Homes. Interment in Oakridge Memory Gardens. A memorial service will be held in the Penthouse, Northwood Centre, 2615 Northwood Terrace, Halifax, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2001. Reception to follow. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
