WOOD, Maurice - passed away peacefully at Oshawa Lakeridge Hospital on Sunday, February 19th. Moe was predeceased by his faithful wife of 70 years - Margaret (Falconer), loving parents May and Joe and his dear brother Chub. He is survived by his daughters Gail (Jeff) of Gravenhurst, Jan (Bob) of Whitehorse, grandkids BJ (Becca) of London, Faith (Darren) of Orillia, Dusty (Jenn) of Gravenhurst, Jack in Toronto, and Hannah in Whitehorse. Proud great-grandpa to Norah, Oscar, Isabel, and Greydon. Dedicated uncle to Cathie (Oshawa), Joe (deceased), Debbie (California), and Brian (Calgary). Dearly missed by caring friends Theresa and Ralph of Oshawa. Back in the day, Moe was an active little league coach of baseball and hockey and a steadfast employee of General Motors for over 40 years after serving in the Royal Canadian Navy during the war. He was a proud member of Branch 43 of the Royal Canadian Legion for 78 years. Moe enjoyed the simple life of playing cards, visiting with friends, sharing stories, and having a good laugh. Thanks to Judy, the wonderful staff of Sunrise Senior Apartments, and all the PSWs at Community Care Durham for the support and compassion shown to Dad these latter years, you do a wonderful job.
