JOHNSON, Diana Louise - Passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2023, with her family by her side at Wentworth Lodge. Predeceased by her beloved husband Lloyd Johnson in 2014. Survived by, and cherished mother to Charlotte Johnson (David Boynton) and Lorna Johnson (Derek Schmuck), treasured grandmother of Steven Johnson and cherished great-grandmother to Tommy and Cheyanne Johnson, and survived by her cousin Judy Lyons and nephews Mark and Michael Francis. Diana was predeceased by her parents Bill and Estelle Francis, beloved brother Jack Francis, sister-in-law Charlotte Francis, her treasured niece Cheryl Blott, brother-in-law Wayne and sisters-in-law Lois and Marie. She will be greatly missed by dear friends Ed and Dianne Rohr. Diana and Lloyd lived in Binbrook their entire married life for over 50 years, in a house they built. Diana was an accomplished opera singer in her youth, and spent many treasured hours singing and playing instruments with her family as a young girl and young lady. Later, after marrying and having a family, she sang for many years in the choir at Olivet United Church and for weddings. She also worked in the Navy Reserve before marrying Lloyd. Diana loved her outings with friends and adventures with her daughters. She loved to bake and cook and was known for her sweet tooth and delighted everyone with her laughter and smile. A very special thank you to Dr. Mazurek and Sarah, and the extraordinarily kind and compassionate staff at Wentworth Lodge. Diana valiantly endured dementia with dignity. Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home - "William J. Markey Chapel", 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Friday, March 10, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. A funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m., following visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Alzheimer's Society or Cancer Society would be appreciated. (the Hamilton Spectator 07 Mar 2023)
