ANDREWS, Joseph Charles, Leading Stoker (M), V38084, RCNVR, MPK - 18 Mar 1945, HMCS GUYSBOROUGH - Son of Charles R. and Matilda Andrews, of Port Colborne, Ontario. Husband of Evelyn Blanche Andrews, of Humberstone, Ontario.
L/Stoker Andrews died when his ship, HMCS GUYSBOROUGH, was torpedoed and sunk by U-868 in the Bay of Biscay with the loss of 53 of her crew.
Note: The (M) after Leading Stoker indicates that Joseph Andrews passed the Auxiliary Machinery Course and was qualified as an Auxiliary Machinery Watchkeeper.
