In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
HANNA, Keith - On the evening of December 23, 2022, Keith Hanna passed away at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Cheryl, his three sons and their wives: Kevin (Dana), Craig (Joelle) and Mark (Julie). He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Megan, Ryan, Emily, Luke, Gabriel and Sydney.
Keith served for 37 years in the Canadian Navy, retiring with the rank of Chief Petty Officer 1st Class. He spent another 8 years in the navel reserve setting up sail training throughout BC for the Sea Cadets.
In retirement he continued to pass on his love of sailing, as the sail training officer at the Canadian Forces Sailing Association and on his boat the Nepenthe.
Keith's love of sailing was only surpassed by the love for his family. A family that will miss him greatly.
A Celebration of Life is planned for April 23rd at 1:00 pm at the Chief and Petty Officers Mess, 1575 Lyall St, Victoria BC. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate financial donations in Keith's memory to Veterans Memorial Lodge were he was cared for in his final years.
