NEWCOMBE, Lawrence H. - 81, of Debert, Colchester County and formerly of Parrsboro passed away Friday, March 31, 2006 at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of the late Capt. Harry and Charlotte (Blenkhorn) Newcombe. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the Royal Canadian Navy. He was employed with Alma/Atmus Heavy Equipment for many years. He is survived by his wife, the former Georgina Skipper; daughters, Charlotte Roberts (Kenneth), Moose River; Sandra McCully (Ronald), Truro; sons, Gary (Dorothy), Yarmouth; Mark, Michael, both of Truro; a sister, Irene Gilbert, Parrsboro; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Dean, Victor and William. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Smith’s Funeral Home Parrsboro. Funeral service 2 p.m. Monday (April 3, 2006) in St. George’s Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Mark Pretty officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
