In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
McBRIDE, Lorne Patrick - We are sad to announce the passing of Lorne on July 17, 2010. He was born in Vancouver, March 15, 1931. He began his long electrical career in 1948, then, in Lorne's words life began at 20 when I joined the navy and met my soul mate Lillian while in Nova Scotia. They were married in 1954. The result is what he describes as his greatest achievement: helping Lil raise the finest 4 children a man had the privilege to know. He will be greatly missed by Lillian after 57 years of marriage, daughters Elaine, Gail (Tim), Karen (Gregg), son Glen (Janet), grandchildren Daniel (Chelsea), Michelle (Darren), Samantha, Allison, Shawn, and sister Winnie (Jerome). When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, I want no tears or gloom filled room why cry for a soul set free. Miss me a little but not too long and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love we always shared. Miss me but let me go." At Lorne's request there will be no service instead just a private family gathering. A special thanks to Dr. Clements. The family would also like to thank the Victoria Hospice for the care given the last 6 weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to this wonderful facility.
