In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
BUCK, Russell Phillip (Rusty) - Rusty passed away on January 29, 2023. Born in Pasadena California on November 12, 1924, Rusty was the second son of four boys, he served his country in WW2 in the Canadian Navy. He came back to Vancouver at the end of the war to attend the University of British Columbia. There he met the love of his life Myrtle, they were married August 27, 1947. They had 2 children. Shirley in 1948 and Pierce in 1950.
In 1995 Rusty and Myrtle retired and made the move to Courtenay to be closer to family. After the passing of Myrtle in 2009, Rusty adopted a furry dog friend named Reggie who brought great joy in Rusty’s later years.
Rusty will be greatly missed for his kindness and his silly “Dad Jokes”.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Myrtle in 2009 and son Pierce in 1988.
He is survived by his daughter Shirley Wyndham and his five grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. (The Comox Valley Record 29 Jan 2023)
