REGALBUTO, Charles Cerino, OS, V6987, RCNVR, MPK - 10 Feb 1942, HMCS SPIKENARD - Son of Joseph and Kathleen Regalbuto, Ottawa, Ontario.
OS Regalbuto died when his ship, HMCS SPIKENARD, was torpedoed and sunk by U-136, about 465 nautical miles west of Malin Head, Ireland while escorting convoy SC-67. Of her crew of 65, there were only 8 survivors. Before he joined the service at Ottawa he worked at Uplands for a time. He attended York Street School, and St. Brigid's Church in Ottawa, and was a member of the Bots' club. Ordinary Seaman Regalbuto was one of a family of thirteen, five whom are serving in the armed forces. His parents resided at 49 ½ Clarence St., Ottawa, Ontario.
