In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
MADDIGAN, Brian Gregory - It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Brian Maddigan on June 17, 2023, at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital with his wife Lynn by his side.
Brian was born in Gravelbourg, SK, but spent his childhood in Palmer, SK, where he lived and completed his high school education. After graduating, Brian joined and proudly served in the Canadian Navy for the next 3 years. His time in the Navy gave him the opportunity to travel and spend time all throughout the world. After finishing his time with the Navy, Brian lived and worked all around British Columbia. He was lucky enough to find his soon to be wife, Lynn, and they were married in 1971 in Sooke, BC, for almost 52 years (Brian passed 2 days shy of their anniversary). Together they moved to Alberta in 1984 and have been in the area ever since moving to Grande Prairie 12 years ago.
Brian will be missed by his wife Lynn Maddigan, daughter Karen (Gary) Snisarenko, son Kevin Maddigan, his grandson Tyce Snisarenko, and his brother Joseph "Joe" Maddigan.
Brian was predeceased by his parents, Francis Eugene (Gene) and Helen Catherine (Ella) Maddigan, and his siblings Leona, Ellen, Mary, Pat, Thomas, Jim, Margaret, Leonard, Gerard, Mike, Bernie, and a baby sibling he never had the chance to meet before they left this world. Brian was the youngest of 14 children.
A Memorial Service for Brian will be held on June 24, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Bear Creek Funeral Home, 11802 99 Ave, Grande Prairie, AB, with a luncheon to follow.
A Celebration of Brian's life with a supper and beverages will be held at his daughter Karen and son-in-law Gary's home after the luncheon. Everyone is invited to join them at 10744 160 Ave, Grande Prairie, AB.
