Floyd joined the RCN in Dec 1964 and served until Sep 1977. Of his 13 years in, he spent 10 years on various ships and took part in NATO deployments. In 1987 he joined the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires where he worked till his death in 2007.
Survived by his wife Nancy (née Stronach), Sons Carmen (Lynn) and Robert (Cathy); Daughter Tracy (Danny) Goesells; Grandson: Luke; Step-grandsons: Brian, James and Devan; Granddaughter Maeghan; Step-great-grandsons: Mason, Dominic, Gabriel, Skyler, Kayden, Dominic and Deklyn; Step-great-granddaughter: Kayleigh. Sisters: Faith (Bill) McNeill, KayeKearney, Joanne Gosse and Brother Bob (Sheri Gregory)
Predeceased by parents Clarence and Lila Coughlin; Sisters: Shirley Warren and Mary Coughlin; Brothers-in-law: Keith Warren, Allan Cooper, Gus Gosse and Walter Kearney, all formerly of Charlottetown, PEI.
Ships served in: HMCS PRESERVER - Posted to PRESERVER while under construction at Saint John Shipbuilding. Commissioning crew. Floyd was serving in PRESERVER for her trip to Russia during which they Crossed the Arctic Circle HMCS MARGAREE - Believed to have served in MARGAREE HMCS GATINEAU - Believed to have served in GATINEAU STADACONA (Boat Shed) WINDSOR PARK (part of CFB HALIFAX)
