In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
RASMUSSEN, Niels Erik - of Cole Harbour passed away at home peacefully on July 4, 2023. That afternoon, the clouds lifted and ushered him to heaven.
He was born May 6, 1945 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He proudly served for 30 years in the Canadian Navy after joining in 1963 and sailed on a number of ships.
Niels was predeceased by father Henning Rasmussen, mother Ebba Rasmussen and his brother Karsten Rasmussen. He was survived by wife Donna Wagner, daughter Kelly Young (Andrew), grandson Angyl Young and his sister Lisbeth Emerson (Steve).
His feline companions were dear to him. Roona has stayed behind with Donna, but Mittens, Molly, and Muffin are back in his lap.
Services have already taken place on July 13th with family. Donations in memory may be made to Brigadoon Village, Cole Harbour Woodside United Church or an organization of your choice.
He was loved by family and will be remembered as generous, smart and quiet.
