From 1980 until his retirement in 2013 he worked at The Province newspaper as a manager for the carriers and as a union rep. He had a strong work ethic, which he instilled in his children as young paper carriers and nurtered throughout their life with encouragement and advice. Dick made a hobby of rebuilding computers and helping anyone who asked, with their tech issues. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed family gatherings with lots of storytelling and laughs. He will be remembered for his straightforward, no nonsense approach to life and for his sense of humor often conveyed through his mischievous eyes, grin and silly laugh. You will truly be missed. (The Vancouver Sun / The Province 20 Jun 2023)
