CONRAD, Chester Patrick Sullivan - It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Chester Conrad at the age of 69. Chester passed away on September 29th surrounded by the love of his family. He is survived by his wife Jane Conrad, daughters Carrie Forbes (Chris Cormier) Meredith Conrad and Laura Conrad, and his son Greg Conrad (Taylor Montgomery). He is also survived by his brothers David Conrad and Jeff Conrad and their families, as well as his sister Peggy Jackson and her family and his mother, Audrey Conrad. He is predeceased by his father Chester Sullivan Conrad and his brothers Tim Conrad and Frank Conrad. Chester was born in Petawawa, Ontario in November 1953, and was raised on Nova Scotia’s eastern shore. He held a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in systems engineering. He was proud to have served a long career in the Royal Canadian Navy. Chester met his wife Jane in 1980 at the Quebec Winter Carnival and they married in 1982. Chester worked for Weir as a Senior Systems Engineer for 17 years, he once held the title of Chairman of the Maritime Theatre Missile Defense Forum and did a lot of travelling throughout the course of his career. Chester played the banjo and loved all music, especially east coast style folk music. He was most passionate about the sea, trips to the cottage and his family. Cremation has already taken place and a celebration of life will be held at the Owl's Club in Dartmouth on October 29th, 2023 from 1:30-4:30 PM
