PENNINGTON, Ken G. - In March 1959 Ken joined the RCN. In October 1967 Ken volunteering for the Submarine Service He was on Oberon BSQ #5. Upon completion of the course he was sent to Chatham, England to stand by HMCS Okanagan where he was Commissioning Crew in June 1968. In 1969 Ken joined HMCS Onondaga and then he went to the West Coast to join HMCS Rainbow and served until 1970. After his submarine service Ken went back to General Service and served in ships.
In 1975 Ken retired in the Halifax area and started to build houses. He then moved to Calgary, Alberta and continued building houses for a few more years and then moved to Penticton, BC. He also worked for two years in Fort McMurray, Alberta. After Fort McMurray he went back to Penticton and started a Real Estate Company. He did that for ten years. He then sold the Real Estate company and began building houses again.
After Ken becoming sick and both he and his wife were told to move out of the Okanagan Valley so they relocated to New Minas, Nova Scotia. This is where Ken and his wife resided when Ken passed away.
No obituary published. As per Ken's wishes he will be buried in Summerland, BC in the future.
