GADD, Jeremy Simon Hugh (Jerry) - Passed away Saturday, March 20, 2004. Born July 13, 1945 Formby, England. Predeceased by his parents Rev. Derrick and Mollie Gadd and sister Rosemary. He is lovingly remembered by his best friend and wife Ann, his children Matthew (Amy), Adrianne (Jordan) of Victoria, BC. His is also survived by his brothers Tony (Wanda) of Fredericton, NB; Peter (Deana) Gadd of Miramichi, NB, his sister Jennifer (Thomas) Collette-White of England and sister Susan (Charles) Ferris of Fredericton, NB, also sister-in-law Betty Gordaneer, nephews Wayne Gordaneer of Victoria, Chris (Dawn) Gordaneer of Toronto, brother-in-law Tim Allard (Tami) of Vancouver. Jerry joined The Navy (ROTP) in 1963, graduated from UNB 1967, then started his full-time Naval career. He and Ann moved many times with their children living in Norfolk, Virginia, USA where Jerry attained his Masters of Public Administration in 1978. The family also lived in Halifax, St. Johns, Nfld, Toronto and Victoria. Jerry retired from The Navy in 1996 and has worked at the Naval Simulator at NOTC, Venture, Workpoint Esquimalt for the past four years in a job he absolutely loved. Jerry was a member of Christ Church Cathedral, Vancouver Island Division Navy League of Canada and the Victoria Model Ship Building Society. A very special thanks to the Doctors and nurses of Emergency and CCU at RJH especially Sue (ER), Brenda and Diane (CCU) who were very supportive and helped our family through the first few days. A thank you especially to our large Navy family, your support and love has been outstanding especially Ken and Lynne Scotten, Ken Watson and his workmates at NABS. Jerry had a special love of the Sea Cadet Program and his first question when speaking to cadets was "Are you having fun?" so a fund has been set up in Jerry's name as a "Fun" fund. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Navy League Vancouver Island Division c/o 1330 Justine Place, Victoria, BC V9B 4J2. Funeral Services at Christ Church Cathedral, corner of Rockland and Quadra Streets, Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 2:00 pm. Reception to follow at the Gunroom Venture, NOTC Workpoint Esquimalt.
