CARDER, Wilfred Walter, AB, V62462, RCNVR, MPK - 21 Aug 1944, HMCS ALBERNI - Son of Wilfred George Carder (deceased) and Emily Carder, of Chatham, Ontario.
AB Carder died when his ship, HMCS ALBERNI, was torpedoed and sunk in the English Channel on 21 Aug 1944 by U-480, southeast of the Isle of Wight. Fifty-nine of her ship's company lost their lives.
AB Carder's father was a Corporal in the RCAF. He died in hospital in Vancouver, BC 03 Dec 1943 of a gastric hemorrhage
