DALTON, Peter Francis Gerard - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s. Age 64.
Predeceased by his 3 sons, Stephen, Jonathan and Gerard, his father, Stephen Dalton, his father and mother-in-law, Wilfred and Lillian Campbell, sisters-in-law Carol Dalton and Ruth Young, and brother-in-law Alphonsus Jesso.
Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 43 years Juanita (Campbell). His son and best buddy Grant, Daughters Kateri, Lily and Ellie. And his grandchildren Adrian and Noelle. His mother, Violet Dalton, his brothers and sisters Gladys (Wayne), Josie, Steve, Violet Locke (Barry), Paula Martin (Harold), Grant (Tanya) and Jason (Jennifer). His bothers and sisters-in-law Mathias (Brenda), Martina Allan (Earl), Richard, Shawn (Jo-Ann), Ignatious and Carla. Also his half sisters-in-law and their spouses. As well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Peter was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy for 26 years, having joined right out of high school. After the Navy, he returned to trade school and joined the UA740 as a plumber, the same trade and union as his own father.
A hard worker and a devoted husband and father, family was always Peter’s number one priority. Even with his own health failing, Peter’s primary focus was always the well being of his family.
Peter will be resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home in Bay Bulls. Visitation on Tuesday, December 26th and Wednesday, December 27th from 2pm-9pm.
A celebration of Peter’s life will be held on Thursday December 28th at St. Patrick’s RC Church in Witless Bay at 10am. Interment to follow at Holy Cross RC Cemetery in Witless Bay.
