Earl is the son of Roland Earl Nickerson and Alice Rosie Hubbard. He married Laura Bertha Morton on 13 Sep 1934, at the Baptist Parsonage, Yarmouth, NS. Earl was a fisherman at the time of his marriage. He is buried in the Chegoggin Cemeteyr, Chegoggin, Yarmouth Co., Nova Scotia.
