In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
BAKER, Thomas Hercules - age 83, of Halifax, a sinner saved by grace, was ushered into the presence of the Lord on Feb. 1, 2024, two days before his 84th birthday.
Born in Hamilton, Ont., he was the son of the late Thomas West and Vera Pearl (Kelestine) Baker. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 14 years and as a counsellor attendant with the Commission on Drug Dependency for 24 years. He had the joy of serving the Lord at Missionary Bible Church, Halifax, until the time of his death as well as at The People’s Gospel Hour for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Hubley), his children Louise (Laurent Le Pierrès), Halifax; Thomas Gordon, Greenwood; and Judith (Fred James), Halifax, as well as by 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Joyce Spaetzel, Rhea Walker and brother William Ross Baker.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8 at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, and the funeral service will be held at Missionary Bible Church, 5282, Kent Street, Halifax, on Friday, Feb. 9 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Luke Higgs officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, The People’s Gospel Hour or to a charity of your choice. (J.A. Snow Funeral Home)
