PLANTE, J. A. Yvon - Passed away on 08 February 2024 after a battle with cancer. At his request there will be no service. He joined the C.A.F. about the mid 1970's. He was CO in all three Oberon Submarines as well as Squadron Commander of the 1st Canadian Submarine Squadron. He commanded HMCS FRASER and later served in NDHQ OTTAWA. In the period 1988-90 he was instrumental in countering local resistance to the purchase of the Pointe-à-Carcy property, now the home of NavResHQ, Fleet School Quebec, HMCS Montcalm, etc.
