BEAUCHAMP, Joseph Florida Andre, AB, V55085, RCNVR, MPK - 24 Nov 1944, HMCS SHAWINIGAN - Son of George Beauchamp, and of Antoinette Beauchamp, of Montreal, Province of Quebec.
AB Beauchamp died when HMCS SHAWINIGAN was sunk by U-1228 on 24 Nov 1944. Of her crew of 91, there were no survivors.
Able Seaman Joseph Florida Andre Beauchamp, age 20, R.C.N.V.R., son of Mrs. George Beauchamp, 5532 Third Avenue, Rosemount. He enlisted in March, 1943. A brother, Noel, is serving in Les Fusiliers Mont-Royal overseas and two others Henry and Paul are at home. A sister L/Cpl. S. Williamson is now on active service in Newfoundland, where her husband is also serving. Another sister, Germaine is at home.
