DALEY, Robert James (Bob) - age 72 years of Dartmouth passed away peacefully December 8, 2011 at the Halifax Infirmary Hospital in Halifax surrounded by his family. Born in Sudbury, Ontario he was the son of the late Gordon and Irma (Rousell) Daley. Bob served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 25 years, after his naval career he was employed at Bedford Institute and later the Halifax Shipyards. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Centenial Branch # 160 and was honored as "Veteran of the Month" for December. He enjoyed his summers at Riverland Campground in Nine Mile River, along with a Keith's and a game of cards. He is survived by his wife of 19 years and best friend the former Theresa O'Halloran, sons Scott (Becky), Steven (Lisa) both Porters Lake, and Ron, Edmonton, step daughter, Angela. Sisters Dawn (Norman), Catherine (George), Joanne (Bill), Patricia (John). Grandchildren, Mitchell, Ryan, Sean, Tegan, Sam, Britton and Dakota. He was predeceased by his first wife Sharon (Hines), an infant son Robert, brother Michael. No visitation. Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday December 12 at the Royal Canadian Legion Centenial Branch # 160, 703 Main Street, Dartmouth. Rev. Patricia Malin, officiating followed by a Legion Tribute. Burial will be at sea at a later date. No flowers by request. In lieu please consider a donation to Royal Canadian Legion, Centenial Branch. Ships served in: HMCS OJIBWA - Drafted to OJIBWA after Basic Submarine Qual course. He was unable to serve in subs due to being claustrophobic.
