WALTERS, Stewart Melbourne - 76, Lunenburg, died Thursday in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Lunenburg, he was a son of the late Capt Angus and Margaret (Tanner) Walters. He served as a chief petty officer in the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteers Reserve during the Second World War. After the war he joined the family business at Lunenburg Diary Ltd. He is survived by his wife, the former Verna Croft, Lunenburg; two sons, Wayne, Lower Rose Bay; James, Lunenburg; a daughter Margaret (Mrs Frederick Smith), Ninevah; two brothers, Bernard, Lunenburg; Gilbert, Dartmouth; a granddaughter. He was predeceased by his stepmother Mildred; an infant son. A private family funeral will be held at a later date in St John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg, Rev Fred Hiltz officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nova Scotia Parkinson's Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, or any charity.
