In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
MCPHAIL, Michael Barrington - Mike passed away peacefully and suddenly on the evening of Friday, December 11, 2020. He is survived by his wife Jean, his son Michael Reid (Julie), daughter Leslie (Steve), step-daughter Lori (Cindy), grandchildren Garvin (Kayla), Jessalyn and great grandchildren Bronson and Quinn as well as his brother Stewart (Lorraine).
Mike spent his childhood in the Midland/Fesserton, Ont. area and joined the Royal Canadian Navy as a young man. He was very proud of his military service and was always interested in Canadian military history. He had a very successful career in electrical sales and management in the Maritimes and Ontario after he left active service.
Mike's retirement led him and Jean to Port McNicoll, Ont. where they enjoyed many years of gardening and tinkering on various projects. His passion was restoring buckets of rusted car parts to their former glory. He loved driving his antique cars and he enjoyed times spent at many car shows. He was a proud member of the Model "A" Owners Club of Canada and the Royal Canadian Legion.
Declining health led to his relocation to Harbour Hill Retirement Suites, Goderich and most recently to Algoma Manor Nursing Home in Thessalon. Many thanks to the Manor staff for their support and wonderful care during his final days.
Mike's request for no funeral or memorial service will be honored. (The SOOTODAY 16 Dec 2020)
