LS Morrison died when HMCS SHAWINIGAN was sunk by U-1228 on 24 Nov 1944. Of her crew of 91, there were no survivors.
Leading Seaman Ewen Morrison of Yorkton was the son of Malcolm and Kate Morrison who homesteaded north of Barvas and later retired to Vancouver. Ewen was born at Stornoway and was a student at Yorkton when he enlisted on September 17, 1940 at Esquimalt, British Columbia.
