WOODS, Harold George, Tel, V67836, RCNVR, MPK - 24 Nov 1944, HMCS SHAWINIGAN - Son of Charles A. and Elizabeth Woods. Grandson of Emma Woods, of Outremont, Quebec.

 

Tel Woods died when HMCS SHAWINIGAN was sunk by U-1228 on 24 Nov 1944. Of her crew of 91, there were no survivors.

 

Telegraphist Harold George Woods, is now presumed dead after being reported missing following the sinking of H.M.C.S. Shawinigan last November, Telegraphist Woods was the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Woods of 576 McEachran Avenue, Outremont, Québec. He joined the navy in August 1943 at the age of 20. He attended Strathcona Academy and Montréal High School.

HMCS ST HYACINTHE - Drafted to ST HYACINTHE 05 Jan 1944
